Biographical note

At the ICM 18th International Congress in Jerusalem, September 1978, a resolution was passed to appoint a Liaison Officer to take forward the USAID Project under the USAID Grant. On 17 October, 1978, a meeting was held at ICM Headquarters to action the resolution, and Miss Georgette Grossenbacher was appointed Liaison Officer and an Advisory Committee (TAC) established.

The first meeting of the Advisory Commitee took place 4-6 April 1979, at which the role and function of the Liaison Officer and TAC was discussed and job profiles for additional personnel outlined. The next meeting was planned for September 1979, or within a month of expected Grant extension being signed.

However, the funds for the ICM/USAID grant extension did not arrive until January 1980, and the project proposal for a new grant submitted by the ICM to USAID did not obtain approval. The Project was consequently terminated and all activities ceased from 31 January 1980.
