Description

Collection of notes of remarkable events, persons, etc. mainly relating to the Netherlands, and including abbreviated accounts of the principal Dutch voyages of exploration in the 16th and early 17th cent. In an interleaved copy of Abraham Saur's 'Diarium historicum'. Frankfort: N. Basseus, 1582. In Dutch: mainly by two compilers. The printed work has a t.p. in red and black, and each Month is illustrated by a symbolical woodcut. Each of the two compilers has made his own MS. Index on the interleavings, and in the margins of the Index to the printed work. The latest dated entry for the older compiler is 29 September, 1627 (facing p. 410); and for the other, 23 November, 1672 (facing p. 270).
