About this work

Description

Papers relating to treatment of boys and men for exhibitionism by group therapy sessions, Junior Exhibitionist Group and Senior Exhibitionist Group, 1958-1960. Includes detailed typed reports of the group sessions with notes on some individuals; tables of statistics providing details of offences, family background, effect of treatment; some manuscript notes on the sessions or interpretation.

The participants (most of whom are identified by name) were males who had been convicted of an offence (indecent exposure). The sessions were carried out by therapists, including Rosen, at the Portman Clinic, London. As well as trying to help the participants it was also being done as a research project. A lot of this work provided material for Rosen's chapter on 'Exhibitionism, Scopophilia and Voyeurism', in the first and later editions of Sexual Deviation.
