[Begins:] Bien sera s[eño]res que den toda la priesa Posible en enviar al almacen ... todo el acogue [&c.]. Lima Dated Lima, 5 June 1632. An order signed by the Viceroy of Peru [1629-39] requesting the prompt supply of mercury by the Juezes officiales de la R[ea]l [Ha]zienda of Huancavelica.

Biographical note

Luis Gerónimo Fernández de Cabrera y Bobadilla, 4th Conde de Chinchon (1590-1647) was Viceroy of Perú. The fourth Conde de Chinchón and his second wife, Francisca Henríquez de Ribera, have been frequently but mistakenly associated with the introduction of cinchona bark into Europe. [See Haggis (1941); and Jaramillo-Arango (1949)].
