Christian, Herzog zu Sachsen-Eisenberg (1653-1707)

Collection of medical receipts in Latin, with headings in German. The text is written within a woodcut ornamental panel which appears on both sides of each leaf. The index and the German headings, etc. in red have possibly been added after the writing of the text.

1 volume 4 bl. ll. + 143 ff. + 48 bl. ll. + 8 ll. + 48 bl. ll. 16 mo. 12 x 10 cm. Original limp vellum binding, with flap and two brass clasps. The sides are stamped in gold with the arms of Saxony, the upper cover also with C.H.Z.S., and the date 1685.
