Power list 2000.

Jon Snow announces the names of the people who are judged to be the most influential, in the year 2000. The Power List is decided on by a panel of seven judges. The panelists discuss their criteria, and there are short items on some of those whose names are included. At number 89, is Dr Mike Dexter, the Director of the Wellcome Trust. There follows a short item about Dr Dexter, and the work of the Trust, in particular, its funding partnership with the Government, to expand and develop University research.
