Holograph MSS. by Giambattista Clemente Nelli [1725-1793], containing the Letters from 1588 to 1619 only, and without The Biography. With an added MS. Index, prepared by the booksellers Gonelli of Florence. Vol. I, Letters 1588-1612; Vol. II, Letters 1612-1619, ending at July 28. These two MSS contain transcripts of 470 letters written by or to Galileo: they are almost all in Italian, but there are a few in Latin. Produced in Florence.

3 volumes 2 vols. + 1 vol. folio & 4to. 30 × 21 cm., 22 × 161/2 cm. The letters are in modern vellum bindings: the index [c. 1925.] is unbound.
