Description
Bacterial cholangitis
This is a liver from an adult with bacterial cholangitis and HIV-2 infection. There are expanded and ragged portal tracts (small arrow) and a large abscess expansion near the superior surface (large arrow)
The infection was caused by Gram-negative bacilli.
