Baron Spolasco, M.D., & M.R.C.S. - K, O, M, T, & C.L.D'H. One of the 13 survivors of a number of 50, wrecked in the Steamer Killarney in the depth of Winter, Jan.y 20th 1838, on a barren rock in Renny Bay, Co. Cork, on which (rock) they remained without sustenance for a great portion of 3 days & 2 entire nights without the slightest shelter - amongst the lost was the Baron's son, an interesting boy of about 9 years of age, by whose death he also loses 300 per ann. - in short he lost his all which was embarked, save his carriage, which was a few minutes too late on the previous morning; drawn on stone and printed by Unkles [...] from a painting by Signor Fabroni
