    Gardens. The gardens have been continually improved throughout the year, and the nurseries have been successful in providing shrubs, plants and fruit bushes for the gardens of the other hospitals of the Group . Staff Social Club The Staff Social Club has been encouraged throughout the year, and tennis and other matches have been arranged with outside clubs luring the summer . Office staff It is difficult to pay tribute to the office staff of the Group in a section of my report concerned mainly with the activities of only one hospital of the Group. Mr. C.H.Frost as Secretary of the Group, and Mr. S.A.Betts our Finance Officer, have been unremitting in their efforts for the patients' w elf rare throughout the year, and I have found it a great pleasure to work with colleagues whose entire efforts are ever devoted to the well-being of our patients. Medical Staff At the Colony I continue to have the assistance of Dr. R.A.Browne. Efforts to recruit a Junior Registrar luring the past year have met with no success, despite repeated advertisement. Dr. Browne has had to carry a heavy burden of responsibility, which to my mind is quite unf.air to a doctor in training as a specialist. I am, however, pleased to record that he has been most conscientious in his duties, oven though the volume of work which had to be carried on has resulted in his having to postpone the taking of a post-graduate examination. Psychiatric Social Worker A psychiatric social worker is still bally needed, but unfortunately no response has been received to our advertisements.
