Lettering continues: "In figure 41, an opening is made into the uterus, to shew the placenta and membranes, with the vessels coming from the mother, to the foetus. Figure 40, is a portion of the spongy parts of the placenta, dissected off, that those vessels may be more completely seen. Engraved for the Royal Encyclopœdia"
