About this work

Description

The Ethical Sub-Committee was originally set up to deal with the problems created by the scrutiny of communications submitted to Physiological Society meetings. It went on to produce a report on the use of nitrous oxide as an anaesthetic. Scrutiny sub-committees dealing with ethical issues related to animal and human research have also existed.
