About this work

Description

A woodblock printed work containing an account of the day to day work of a housewife including 56 black and white illustrations, and two double page illustrations in colour, with subjects including the preparation and serving of food, toilet processes, hairstyling and the use of cosmetics. The fourth black and white illustration shows a housewife performing moxibustion on her daughter. The date has been taken from a companion volume in the possession of the previous owner.
