Notes

Martin Walls is a market researcher from Watford. After 20 years of working in market research he recently set up his own business to conduct market research for companies. He is interested in news and enthusiastically follows current events through a myriad of channels including radio, TV and internet. Sports are also a big part of his life, and while he no longer plays he regularly watches football and cricket. He has previously viewed Gormely’s work in London and enjoys its surprising and humorous style. He heard about this project on TV, and thinks it’s very unique and seems like a good chuckle. On the plinth he will be he will be doing The Times crossword, a practice he inherited from his dad. He considers it a nod to his dad as they always completed the crossword together. Furthermore he feels it is indicative of a classic English breakfast and thus an appropriate task for the 6 o clock slot on a weekday morning He recognises that with crosswords he often sought help from his dad and therefore suspects he will be asking the good people of Trafalgar Square for clues.
