About this work

Description

Lymph node This is a low power view of a section of lymph node. The image shows discrete and confluent granulomas with some necrosis. H&E stain. In visceral leishmaniasis, parasitized macrophages can infiltrate the sinuses of the lymph nodes and displace the lymphoid tissue. This can lead to a reduction in the formation of red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets.
