Description
Barrowman resided for many years at Klang, the ancient royal capital of Selangor, He became Personal Physician to the then Sultan of Selangor in 1930 and was the first European to be invested with the Name, Rank and Style of Dato'Semboh di Raja, in 1937. The Sultan's successor appointed him a Justice of the Peace for the State. After Barrowman's retirement, the communities of Klang petitioned to name the new highway to Port Swettenham "Barrowman Road", in his memory.
