Biographical note
A Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) and a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) were established in 2000 by the Board of Directors to provide advice to the Board and the Diamond Project Office on how synchrotron user needs can be best served in line with the funds made available by the Diamond Light Source shareholders. The SAC was required specifically to advise the Board on all scientific and technical questions impacting on the specification and design of the Diamond Synchrotron. The SAC also determined the research programme of the Diamond facility.
The remit of the TAC was also to provide advice to the Board on all major technical aspects of the specification, design, procurement, commissioning, operation and development of the Diamond Synchrotron Source.
The remit of the TAC was also to provide advice to the Board on all major technical aspects of the specification, design, procurement, commissioning, operation and development of the Diamond Synchrotron Source.
