Individual Patient Files

These mainly include applications for assistance and visitors' report forms which give details of family background and financial circumstances, medical reports, detailed reports of action taken, account sheets of grants and payments given and a few other papers such as presscuttings and in some cases a full set of correspondence. They have been sorted according to case reference number. Items 1-44 were all contained in a box file labelled `Very Old Case Notes'. Items 45 onwards were loose. The reasons for the survival of these files, and the degree of representativeness they embody, is uncertain.
