About this work

This film illustrates various acute rheumatoid conditions presented by patients including rheumatoid arthritis. A young woman of the 'rheumatoid type' (aged 23 at the time the film was made) is shown. There is a short sequence of men at work such as a police constable on traffic duty and a man sweeping. The two colour sections show an unidentified older woman knitting intercut with other sequences of her hands and general dexterity.
