About this work

Description

Papers focus on the development of the second edition of the textbook which was never published. The first edition was published by Bailliere Tindall in 1990 and edited by Csonka and Dr J K Oates. This version was conceived to be an up to date version of the book with chapters contributed by practising physicians on new advances, controversial issues, causes, treatment, clinical features, transmission and prevention. Readability was a key feature in this edition and several illustrations were planned to be included.

Contains correspondence, notes, draft chapters which included annotations and a general introduction titled "Changing aspects of sexually transmitted diseases". Includes chapters on HIV and AIDS, Behcet disease, syphilis, bejel, non-venereal disorders of the genitalia, non-gonococcal urethritis, Reiter syndrome and other sexually transmitted diseases.

Other editors of the book were Dr J K Oates (also known as Dr Titus Oates), Dr Chris Sonnex and Dr Franklyn D Judson.
