About this work

Description

This prize was founded in 1981 and the first lecture given in 1983. It is funded by bequests from Sir Edward Sharpey-Schafer and his daughter Miss GM Sharpey-Schafer in memory of Sir Edward and his grandson Professor EP Sharpey-Schafer. The prize is awarded triennially and alternates between an established physiologist (preferably but not necessarily from abroad) and a young physiologist chosen by The Society.
