The designation of the milk supplied was as follows:- Tuberculin Tested 2 Schools Pasteurised 4 M Accredited y tt Non-designated 5 National Dried Milk 12 Nine schools received their milk in l/o pint bottles. Eight schools did not provide school milk* TREATMENT OP DEFECTS. Visual, Refraction clinics were held when necessary at the Oakham, Uppingham and Great Casterton Secondary schools. During the year four sessions were held and 125 children were examined. Two children were operated on for squint at the Northampton General Hospital by Dr, Humfrey. Naso-pharyngeal. 91 cases of enlarged tonsils and adenoids received operative treatment during the year either at the Oakham Hospital by Dr, P.H. Wallace, or at the Stamford Infirmary by Mr, dr Bruyn Orthopaedic, These were referred to the Manfield Orthopaedic Clinic held at Peterborough Memorial Hosp. tal Out-patient Department; and included: 6 cases of flat foot, 2 cases of knock knee and 2 cases of valgus ankle. Circumcision. Two boys received operative treatment, CLEANLINESS. 4752 children were examined by the School Nurse during the year 188 children were found to have dirty heads, 2 being definitely verminous. In 10 cases it was necessary for the School Nurse to undertake cleansing. In addition, 13 scases of scabies and 2 of skin ringworm were treated by her.
