Notes

Margaret Hughes comes from Glasgow and is a university lecturer teaching journalism. She will be promoting the work of the Anthony Nolan Trust which is a charity which maintains a register of bone marrow donors in the UK and works with partners worldwide. She has been involved with fundraising since the early 1990s and has been on the register but has never been chosen. The Trust offers hope for families of victims who have leukaemia and who do not have a match within their families. She talks about her mother who died of leukaemia. On the plinth she will be playing the "Simon says" game but it will be called "the Anthony Nolan Trust says game " and will be asking people to dance, walk, etc. Each board will be representing work of the Trust. Everyone else who is taking part will be standing on mini plinths made out of white crates and doing the actions that Margaret will be shouting out. People who work for the Trust will also be giving out leaflets and wants to raise awareness.
