Notes

Maria Grant is originally from the Isle of Wight but is now based in Manchester. She went to Birmingham Polytechnic studying Library and Information Science and then worked for national information centres such as Health Outcomes, Evidence Based Practice. She nows works in University of Salford as a research fellow in the Salford Centre of Nursing, Midwifery Collaborative Research where she supports nurses in learning about finding information. On the plinth she is going to enjoy herself. She focussed her energy in preparing to come to the plinth by doing things such as raising money for the National Society for Crohns Disease (the charity is for those who have inflammatory bowel diseases) and putting together a play list of music she likes and is important to her and has also asked her family and they suggested she knit some gloves for her daughter. Therefore she has brought her knitting needles and hopes to start them but not necessarily finish them.
