Description

An Orangist attack on O'Connell,(who appears as a giant sea monster), the Catholic Association and the Catholic rent, perhaps published on the defeat of emancipation in March 1827. O'Connell had established the Catholic Association (or society) to conciliate all Irishmen of all classes. A new fund was initiated, the Catholic fund, to support the new organization
