This chiefly comprises correspondence with cabinet ministers and government officials, but also includes letters from the explorers Heinrich Barth (1821-1865), Eduard Vogel (1829-1856), and Mansfield Parkyns (1823-1894), and from the orientalist Heinrich Leberecht Fleischer (1801-1888).
