The name of the zoologist responsible for this drawing is not known, although the subjects of the dissections in this series of watercolours suggests an Australasian, such as Dennis Gascoigne Lillie or T. Jeffery Parker. One of the specimens depicted in the series was picked up at 'W. Renton [?] beach', which has not been located
