Biographical note

This commission was set up in 1986 after a recommendation from the Long Range Planning Committee. Its intitial tasks were to gather information about existing centres for epilepsy surgery internationally and then to determine the minimum criteria for designation as an epilepsy surgery centre. The types of surgery performed and criteria for patient consideration were subsequent priorities.
