Camilla Michelle Mayer Baird is originally from London and now lives near Guilford. She is going to do a parody of the Angel of the North being a statue, with bubbles to add movement. She is dressed in white with gold wings. She is a teacher so gave an assembly to the children explaining what she was doing on the plinth. She came to teaching late and found studying again after many years difficult. She studied art history at university but doesn't have a favourite artist or work. Her father was a social anthropologist of German background, her mother was of Danish background and was an artist and model. She has worked in youth theatres and ended up organising the National Theatre's world tours, which is where she met her husband. They later went to live in America. Her sister works for an Asian theatre company. Being on the plinth will help her feel rooted again as a Londoner. Her family is important to her, also being happy and sure of yourself.
