Davidson

Collection of extracts and notes on Astronomy, Chemistry, Geography and Geology: with entries on Chess, economic statistics, literature, etc. Mostly written by the same hand throughout: an index by the compiler on an 8vo. sheet (22 x 14 cm.) is inserted loose. The date 1850 is found on p. 96, and the entry quoting the 'Journal of Science' 1875 on p. 273 is clearly a later addition.

His name was possibly 'Davidson', as on p. 130 there is a note: 'Martha Helen Davidson died Sept. 9, 1834 aged 48 years', and perhaps a Liverpool coffee merchant (cf. pp. 74-85).
