Candidate of nursing profession post letter of application to the Matron of the London Hospital. Interview with the matron. Candidate enters Tredegar House for preliminary training. A day at Tredegar House. Making bed. Dummy patient ("Mrs Tredegar"). Invalid cookery class. First aid instruction (resucitation). Bandaging dummy legs. Nurses relacing in garden. Actual nursing begins. Scene in ward. Tea-time for patients. Blanket bath. Feeding patient in bed (commemorative plaque above). "Good night all". "And so to bed ". Nurses in different uniforms illustrate different nursing jobs: hospital staff nurse; private staff nurse; hospital sister; public health nurse; Queen's Institute; navy; imperial military nurse; air force; assistant matron; hospital matron.
