    XXXXXXXX?C'<XX> ■c'<><xxxx>Gxxx>ex#i A GENERAL STATE OF THE WHITEHAVEN DISPENSARY' For the Year 1798 A CHARITABLE INSTITUTION, which has fo long varioufly and effe&ually promoted the public Good, will require few Obfervations to introduce its regular Proceedings and Events : for to the afflicted Objefts of Humanity, where Sicknefs and Penury prevail, the (alutary Aids of Medical Beneficence, with Healing on its Wings, mull be moft acceptable. Amply qualified to remove or mitigate acuteft Suffering, it affords to them an Afylum of Comfort and Confutation. This Affurance, it is ar- dently hoped, will fecure tofo valuable an Eftablifhment the Sanc- tion and Patronage of thofe who deduce their chief Felicity from conveying the Means of it to Others. <c Ineft fua GratiaThey have their Reward: not merely in the Certainty of the Benefits derived from their Liberality ; but in thofe exquifite and refined Senfations and Affe&ions, which the fympathetic Feelings of the Humane can folely appreciate. It thus accompanies and follows, by prefent Perceptions and future Happinefs, each Act of genuine, difinterefted Charity ; proving the facred, oft exemplified Adage, u It is better to give than to receive.
