Purchased at Sotheby's 10/6/1931, Lot 443.

Biographical note

On fol. 73v is a note by the compiler: 'Memorandum. Thomas Beale came hyther to dwell the 20 day of February in anno 1580 and to pay for his parte of my warre house and a chamber with a compting house the somme of 4li. by the yeare to pay quarterly 20s. and to departe at a quarters warnynge'.
