Biographical note

Through a partnership between East Sussex Brighton and Hove Health Authority and local government, Petrone undertook his first workshop in 1998 at St Peter and St James' hospice in East Sussex, encouraging cancer patients and carers to "colour their feelings" through art. Sixty people attended Petrone’s workshops, painting more than 200 pictures between them. These artworks formed the exhibition "Touching the Rainbow", which was also published as a book in 1999. Petrone extended this work to health professionals in 2000, through the workshop and exhibition "Moving Pictures" (see PP/MAP/D/17).
