About this work

Description

The Staff Conference was reconstituted in 1952, into five groups: nurses, women domestic staff, artisans, administrative and clerical, medical officers. Each group had its own chairman and sent its secretary and representatives to the Staff Conference. The Physician Superintendent, Matron, Housekeeper, Steward and Secretary were also members of the Staff Conference. The aims of the Conference were to gain the co-operation of staff, to suggest and implement improvements to bring staff closer together and to administer the Staff Fund. The Groups were to meet ‘regularly’ and the Conference met at least once a quarter.
