Notes

Graham Lane lives in Brixton. He works at the Greater London Authority. He applied because he loves Gormley's work. He would have liked a night time slot and had planned to sit and read - this is still what he will do. He will assemble a deck chair, sit in it and read the Sunday newspaper as an homage to middle-aged fathers. He is worried people will be antagonised by his lack of performance but will still try and be true to himself. He is wearing a t-shirt saying "just be it" with a sillouette of a man in a deckchar (in opposition to Nike's "just do it" logo). He is like his father who dedicated his life to peaceful pursuits. He speaks about the statue titled "Dead Dad" by Ron Mueck. He is doing the project for himself and for Gormley's vision. Family is important to him. He hopes to live a quiet life, the current public debt is a fear for him. He is also concerned about climate change.
