Notes

Tabitha Sims lives in Bolton, was born in London but her family are originally from the north-west of England. She practices as an artist and teaches. She is motivated to document experiences; she has been blogging prior to her time on the plinth and Bolton Council and University are supporting her documentation of her time on the plinth. She will take a series of image to be digitally stitched together into a large montage of public art. She wants the viewers of her art to experience the same things she did while on the plinth. Her art work is very varied. She is currently working on puppets for a fringe festival. Both her parents were artists and didn't want her to be involved in the arts; she has done collaborative work with both her parents. She initially worked as a personal assistant for design studios in London, then attended art college in Leeds. She then spent a year working with HIV sufferers before going to Exeter to work for her art degree. She lived in a croft in the Hebridges for two years before moving to Glasgow, she then returned home to be near her family. She wants to widen the audience who experience art. She is going to collaborate with another plinther Louise Coulson on an installation. Making a valid contribution and making the people who care about her proud of her are important to her.
