Description
Histopathology of the liver
This is a high power microscopic view of a section of liver from an autopsy of a child with falciparum malaria. It shows macrovesicular fatty change which is a nonspecific response to anaemia.
Trophozoite ring forms may be seen within two red blood cells (centrally and towards the bottom right of the picture). H&E stain.
