The subject is described in a letter, dated 20 April 1904, to Henry S. Wellcome from Louis Sambon, "... in the Palais St. Pierre (Museum of Antiquities) I found a most interesting and magnificent high relief in painted wood representing an invocation of the clergy and people for delivery from the plague. .... and Terzi has made a very good drawing of it ..."
