Description

Transmission electron micrograph of a polymorphonuclear leucocyte in the mid-corneal stroma. 3 large lobes of the nucleus can be seen as can numerous small dark granules. A Golgi apparatus in the centre of the cell is also present, as well as a phagosome at the top end of the cell. The connective tissue around the cell is composed of layers of collagen fibrils. The cell is approximately 17 microns long.
