About this work

Description

'Anatomy. E. Joy. Whitfield. B.R.I. (massage)'. ('Anatomy 1' on spine.) Notes on anatomy, with crayon drawings: not clear whether these are lecture notes or taken from other sources, but would appear to be a fair copy. The volume is paginated 1-287 with a few unpaginated blank pages at the end. There is an index inside the back cover. The author of this volume was almost certainly Eulalia Joyce Whitfield, who appears in the Register of Masseuses and Masseurs of the Chartered Society of Massage and Medical Gymnastics, 1921-1935 (SA/CSP/D.1/1/1) as having qualified some time between 1931 and 1935. She was resident in Bristol, where there was a training school at the Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI). Besides being qualified as a masseuse, she had additional certificates in Medical Gymnastics, Medical Electricity, and Light and Electrotherapy.
