HP is a large fresco on the subject of the world of psychiatry in France from the sixties until today. Lisa Mandel chooses to recount this historical development through the small end of her telescope, interviewing relatives and friends who have worked in the psychiatric sector. The anecdotal nature of HP added to Lisa Mandel's light and humorous drawing could have watered down the point, but the veracity of the facts is sometimes so excruciating or so absurd that this book will not leave anyone indifferent.
