Biographical note

Following the reorganisation of the FPA in 1976, it was decided that the range of specialist FPA sub-committees should be replaced by four Advisory Panels. By December 1977, the Medical and Scientific Advisory Panel, the research Advisory Group, and the Advisory Panel (Review of Contraceptives) were disbanded. They were to be replaced by four Advisory Panels: Education, Information, Research and Medical. By 1979 only one of the four Panels had actually met: the Medical Advisory Panel. So recommendations were made to review the role, function and composition of the panels.
