About this work

Description

In the first part of a three-part series, Winifred Robinson follows the work of The Health Protection Agency. This part focuses in particular on the role the HPA is playing in protecting us against the spread of infectious diseases and how the agency's work is fitting in with NHS policies and working practices. We follow HPA worker Philip Monk as he looks after a young man admitted to Leicester Royal Infirmary suffering from meningitis.
