Description

Songsheet lamenting the current price of beef and the poor wages of most people who can only afford a few potatoes rather than a full roast beef dinner with plum pudding, or even bread in some cases, harking back to the 'better days' under Elizabeth 1. The woodcut illustration at the top shows a soldier, his left leg amputated below the knee, leaning on a crutch, looking down at 7 rats, with bushes and a wooden door behind him.
