Medication chart: Difficulty in urinating, diarrhoea, and nose bleeds. The text states: In case of inhibited urination, if the pulse is floating (fu), Five-Drug powder (wu ling san) is normally given; if it is sunken (chen), polyporus fungus (zhuling) decoction is usually given. For difficulty in urinating, cassia twig decoction with aconite or Minor Bupleurum decoction (xiao chaihu tang) with poria (fuling) is usually given. With dysentery (dabian xiali), it is necessary to distinguish whether the illness is an external or internal one, and proceed to purgation accordingly. With external bleeding, Five-Drug powder (wu ling san) is given initially, followed by bamboo leaf decoction.
