Description

Box file containing items of ephemera in acid free sleeves. These are nearly all 19th century Victorian labels that would have been stuck onto bottles, jars etc. Many are printed in colour. They are for: eau de Cologne, elder flower water, lavender water, orange flower water, otto of rose lip salve, penny royal water, peppermint water, rose water, citron pomatum, bears' grease, bears' oil (these were supposed to 'promote the growth of hair'), hair oils, honey water, circassian hair regenerator, cowslip pomatum, crystal pomade, ox marrow pomatum, philocombe pomade, sweet briar pomatum, Hide's cream of Mowbray, Rowland's, Ruvland's and Kendall's macassar oils,Buerger Bros. Supply Co. (Denver : after shave, fragrance, toilet water, eau de Cologne, eau de toilette)
