    Connstables the names, apparrell, and, if he can, the dwell- ing place allsoe of all such persons as dydd lodge in his howae two daies before or two daies after suche robbery commytted. 4. Item that nonne of them shall suffer anie unlawfull games to be used or played in his howse or groundes. 6. Item that none of them shall suffer any eatinge or drinkinge in his howse in the time of Devyne Service one the Sondaies or holly daies. 6. Item none of them shall dresse or suffer to be dressed or eaten within his howse any kinde of fleshe in the time of Lente, or any other tyme or daies wherein the same is pro- hibited. 7. Item that none shall suffer any howsehoulde servant to any person or persons whatsoever dwellinge within that towne (excepte suche as shall have necessarye occasion of busi- ness with them) to resorte and tarry within his howse to thentente to typple and drinke. 8. Item that none of them shall suffer any person or persons whatsoever (excepte suche as shall lodge in his howse) to tarry within his bowse after nyne of the clocke from Easter daie untyll mychaellmas, nor after eight of the clocke in the winter. 9. Item that none of them shall sell any ale or beare above the rate of four pence a gallon, and that every one of them shall have a second sorte of ale and beare which they shall sell for 2d. a gallon, which they shall from tyme to tyme sell oute of their howses to their poor neighboures. 10. Item that none of them shall buye any goodes of any way- farings man or passenger, or others, that shall bring the same to their howses to sell, but shall firsts before he shall buy them make the constable or some other officer ac- quainted therewith, whereby if any suspition maye be con- ceaved that the same goods were stolne the partie and the said goods may be staid.’' Then follow the names of certain publicans and their sure- ties in the following places:—Hertford, Chesthunt, Brickenden, Great Amwell, the Liberty of Baylie Hall, and Hoddesdon.
