    Umwell, of the eame, baker, on the above date, broke the assize of bread there ; to wit, John Locke made his “ twoe pennye lofes ” sixteen ounces underweight, and his “penny lofes” four ounces underweight; and Francis Umwell made his twopenny loaves twenty ounces underweight, and his penny loaves six ounces under- weight to the great loss of the public. [Deeds 20-1.] Articles of agreement and composition made between the Privy Council and Sir Henry Cocke and Sir Phillippe Boteler, knights, for the delivery of certain provisions towards the expenses of the Koyal Household out of the county of Hertford :— First that fifty fatt veales of the age of syxe weekes and up- wards, and sufficient for her Majesty’s service shall be delivered at the Courte gate the first of June at iijs. iiijcZ. [each.] Item. That cxx fat lambes, and meete for her Majesty’s service shall be delivered at the Courte gate the xxth of June at xiid. [each.] Item. That thirty fatt and great porkes, and sufficient for her Majesty’s service shall be delivered at the Courte gate the xxth day of November, at iiijs. [each.] Item. That fortie flitches of bacon withoute gamondes, and sufficient for her Majesty’s service shall be delivered at the Courte gate the first of February, at xijd. per flitche Item. That these kindes of , poultry shall be delivered at London as followethe, viz., five dozen geese at iiijs. a dozen, viiith October; ten dozen capons at iiijs. a dozen, the xvth of June ; twenty dozen henns at ijs. a dozen the xvth of June ; fifteen dozen pulletts at xviijs. a dozen, the first of July and fifteen dozen the xiith of July ; sixty dozen chickens the fourthe of July, and fourty dozen the first of October, at xijs. a dozen. Item. That cccc quarters of wheate at vj«. viijd. the quarter shall be continued accordinge to the old and ancyent composicon, and that it shall be lawfull for her Majesty’s purveyors for the monthe to take yearelie within the said sheare by vertue of com- mission Ixx quarters of the best wheate payinge reddy money for the same after the rate of the second price that wdieate shall be sold for that June in the market or to abate iiijd. in a bushel of the best price of the said best wheate
