About this work

Description

In order to participate in the FIH regulation programme, participating groups had to have an independent lay chair and lay representatives on their committee. FIH provided guidance on sourcing independent and impartial lay members, but decisions on who to appoint were left to the committee themselves.

The Foundation conducted initial searches for suitable candidates, recruiting lay members through third parties such as patient organisations, existing networks and advertisements. Lay members were required to attend meetings of the group working towards voluntary self-regulation, prepare for meetings by reading relevant materials, and participate in discussions. Lay members were expected to have a broad interest in complementary medicine, while remaining impartial and independent.

The papers include CVs, applications, advertisements for lay positions and related correspondence.
